Paush Putrada Ekadashi

Paush Putrada Ekadashi fast gives happiness to children, its story, and its importance.

Paush Putrada Ekadashi’s fast story importance

According to mythology, a king named Suketuman used to rule in a city named Bhadravati.

King Suketuman was a very skilled, generous, and brave king. Due to this, his people were very happy and satisfied. The king used to work for the welfare of the people and tried to ensure that no one among the people became unhappy.

But even after doing so many virtuous deeds, the king always remained worried. Because he had no children and according to the scriptures, if a person does not have children, he is not able to repay the debt to his ancestors.

Therefore, the king remained thinking day and night as to who would perform my Pind Daan and how the debt of the ancestors would be settled after my death.

The king’s days were spent in this thought. One day, while wandering, Raj reached the forest where a sage was doing penance. When the king bowed to the sage, the sage understood his concern by looking at his face. Then asked, “King, why are you worried?”

Then the king told all his sorrows to the sage and asked him to find a solution to remove his sorrows. So that I can have a child and repay the debt of my ancestors.

The sage heard all the plight of the king and said that he should fast on “Putrada Ekadashi” on the day of Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Paush month. By observing this fast your wish of having a child will be fulfilled.
